The little girl featured on the cover of the 1992 Pearl Jam single "Jeremy" is Jessica Curtis, who was the daughter of the band's longtime manager, Kelly Curtis. The iconic photograph featuring her holding crayons was taken by Lance Mercer. This image was also used on a tshirt and large subway poster for sale and as a social statement.
I worked for Nice Man as the Creative Director and designer for several bands including Pearl Jam from 1991-97. My key role was working with the bands or band managers to develop their retail and tour merchandise.
I met the band several times over the years I served as the Creative director for Nice Man in Minnesota. Pearl Jam was truly one of my favorite artists. We handled the merchandising and licensing for over 100 acts including Pearl Jam, 10,000 Maniacs, Sound Garden, R.
